The 70's Caused Catholic Priests To Rape Kids

Over the insanity of the holiday, I missed this horrific, stupid, and disgusting story about our favorite head-pedophile, Pope Benedict. The problem of pedophilia in the church was not due to an environment that put men in too much control of children while telling them that they can't have sex. No no, it was due to the society of the 70's.

Victims of clerical sex abuse have reacted furiously to Pope Benedict's claim yesterday that paedophilia wasn't considered an “absolute evil” as recently as the 1970s.

In his traditional Christmas address yesterday to cardinals and officials working in Rome, Pope Benedict XVI also claimed that child pornography was increasingly considered “normal” by society.

“In the 1970s, paedophilia was theorised as something fully in conformity with man and even with children,” the Pope said.

I am going to try to remain calm here. Fucking children has never been considered normal by modern society. It hasn't been considered normal to anyone accept the whole child-raping lot of priests who made it normal in their own cloistered lives. There my have been free love in the 70's that spilled over from the 60's, but it didn't translate to children. What kind of society does the pope live in? Oh, that's right; he is the head of the whole child-raping institution.

This man is a ghoul. Instead of taking responsibility for the string of abuse scandals, the Pope has decided to shift the blame from one thing to another. “It's the 60's. No, it's the 70's. No, it's because of atheists.” Tell me, what part of 70's society makes you want to rub your penis on a child? Was it the Vietnam War, the Nixon Administration, the flattening of the economy, the massive loss of jobs, or the oil shortage?

You had better find somewhere else to shift the blame, because the press is coming for you.

The latest controversy comes as the German magazine Der Spiegel continues to investigate the Pope's role in allowing a known paedophile priest to work with children in the early 1980s.

I know it will never happen, but how awesome would it be to see this guy put on trial for facilitating a known child rapist?

I Guess He Wants More Kids Around To Molest

It's the year 2010 and still people seem to care what the Pope has to say, at least that is how it is reported. During the Dark Lords' recent visit to Spain, he blessed the first stone of a disabled children's residence that will bear his name. I am not sure that I would want the name of the pope associated with children in any form. Anyway, the guy shows up and dumps some “holy” water on a rock that is going to be part of the building. Big deal. Here is what caught my eye:

"Therefore, it is indispensable that new technological developments in the field of medicine never be to the detriment of respect for human life and dignity, so that those who suffer physical illnesses or handicaps can always receive that love and attention required to make them feel valued as persons in their concrete needs," he said.

Respect for human life and dignity? That is rich coming from the evil head of an organization that was responsible for the Crusades, the Inquisition, the blind eye turned towards the Jews during World War II (and the endorsement of Hitler), the millions of people who have died in Africa because the Catholic church says condoms cause AIDS, and the rape of scores of children that has most recently came to light. How about their stance on women's rights? Spare me your righteous indignation at the idea that some fetuses are aborted because they are diseased.

I bang my head against the wall and ask the same questions that has been asked a million times before by a million different people: why does anyone give a shit about what the pope thinks about anything, especially when it comes to medicine and technology. If I want to know how to waste my time doing something unproductive while simultaneously convincing people to do things against their best interests, I will ask for the popes opinion and guidance.

Many of the children in the homes for the disabled could have been taken care of before they were born, especially in the case of severe disability. I understand that abortion is a hard decision and it may sound cold and heartless, but disabilities that are so severe that the person is not aware what is going on around them should be eliminated before birth. There are parents who would never think of aborting their disabled fetus, and while I think they are selfish, I also have a great deal of sympathy for them. I think they should be given all of the help in the world to raise their child. However, for the pope to have a voice on this issue is mind-boggling. What has the church done for these children, other than rape them continuously?

One bit of truth and some rather good news was stated in this piece.

"We know that the number of these people has declined mostly because a good number of them are eliminated before they are born," he said.

As it should be. Why should these children be allowed to suffer because of the selfish actions of their parents or because some weird old man in a pointy hat told them the lie that there is a god and he cares about their disable children?

BBC v. The Catholic Church

The Catholic Church has their panties in a wad (again) over what they deem as “unfair” treatment by the BBC. I guess the news is supposed to have the right balance to it, such as saying that the child-raping priests must have had their reasons.

In a report in The Sunday Times O’Brien said research into the BBC’s news coverage of Christianity in general, and Catholicism in particular, and with an analysis of output by the Catholic Church, has revealed a "consistent anti-Christian institutional bias".

O’Brien also said he feared a documentary on the Catholic clerical abuse scandals, which coincides with the Pope’s visit, will amount to a "hatchet job" on the Vatican.

I know one good way to end the anti-Catholic reporting: do something about the institutional rape of children, end the anti-woman sentiment, bring yourself into the 20th century by trusting the science on AIDS and contraceptives, and drop the 14th century mindset that there is a god.

Something tells me that the Catholic church, and Christians in general, will not take anyone up on that offer. You know, because without a God, the Catholic church would just seem like some weird boys-only pedophiles club.

Catholics And Seven Year Olds

In an article with Catholic News Service, Cardinal Canizares stated that children need to be prepared for receiving their first communion before the age of seven.

Children today are maturing so quickly and are exposed to so many different influences that it might be time to consider allowing them to prepare for and receive their first Communion even before their 7th birthdays, said the head of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments.

"A child's first Communion is like the beginning of a journey with Jesus, in communion with him: the beginning of a friendship destined to last and to grow for his entire life," wrote Cardinal Antonio Canizares Llovera.

I think seven is too young for a child to do anything other than play and go to school. However, following the path of religion, you have to “get ‘em while their young.” If you take these children and begin the brainwashing process early enough, you can guarantee that they will have life-long guilt problems and be fully indoctrinated into the church, forever guilty of being born human.

St. Pius said delaying the reception of Communion until long after the child reaches "the age of reason," generally accepted to be about 7 years of age, was the result of the erroneous belief that "the most holy Eucharist is a reward rather than a remedy for human frailty."

The age of reason is seven? I have a daughter who is nine and I still wouldn’t consider her at the age of reason. For that matter, I am not sure that I am at the age of reason. The idea that a child can understand what is going on when it comes to religion is laughable.

No word on if the age of rape is still six.

Pope Still Trying Desperately To Alienate Any Rational Catholics Left In Church

So, the Vatican apparently thinks that women donning the priests' robes is an offense as heinous as pedophilia and heresy. All are punishable by excommunication (the gravest of Catholic punishments that they're allowed to get away with these days, if you don't count ruining millions of kids' childhoods and all that) according to a revision of Canon Law announced yesterday.

Somehow this is part of the Catholic Church's "effort" to tighten up the rules in response (I feel like there should be bunny ears all over this thing but I have to stop somewhere) to growing outrage over the fact that they're doing nothing about the rampant sexual abuse. I'm not sure how banning women from the priesthood has anything to do with male priests abusing children--male and female---but maybe I'm confused because of my tiny woman brain, fashioned out of the spare parts of a man.

Catholic Church Continues to Make Catastrophically Crazy Calls

Here's an infuriating story to rile up your blood pressure. Sister Margaret McBride, who is a nun and hospital administrator, was just excommunicated for approving an abortion for a woman who would likely have died had she continued her pregnancy. The church's position, of course, would be to let both the woman and fetus die.

On NPR today, Rev. John Ehrich, the medical ethics director for the Diocese of Phoenix, compared Sister McBride helping save a woman's life to priests molesting children:

"She said 'Yes you can kill that unborn child.' That's a heinous act. And I'm not gonna make a distinction between what's worse, you know---they're both abhorrent."

This is just so disgusting it's almost unbelievable. You can't make this shit up! Why does the Catholic church keep doing this to themselves? And to date, no pedophile priests have been excommunicated. Keep protecting the child-raping priests. But a nun who okays an abortion for a woman who would otherwise die---nope, get rid of her evil ass!
