Jesus Is Coming... In 2050

A recent study has shown that nearly 41% of Americans think that Jesus is going to return by 2050. Does anyone else see a problem with this? I think the numbers are a little off, but when you have a large group of people, especially the ones in power, that believe this crap, then we are setting ourselves up for failure.

These people that think that Jesus is going to return soon are going to be the death of us all. Why clean up the oil spill, or try to stop polluting so much, or stop wars? Jesus is going to come back and save us anyway and magic away the filth.

I am telling you, the people that believe this stuff are voting and taking office. We need some atheist candidates to take office and put a stop to this nonsense.

  2. Noone knows when Jesus is coming back, Will, but coming back He is. He tells us that in his Word. He also tells us that when He comes back "every" knee will bow. That will include yours Will but if you haven't asked Him into your heart it will be too late for you. You see, if I try to be the very best person I can be, following God's commandments to the best of my abilities, loving my fellow man as he commands and come to the end of my life and die and there is nothing else, what have I lost? But you on the other hand, blaspheme God and deny Him and do not ask Him into your heart and you come to the end of your time and die and find yourself in front of the judgment Throne of God and find that it really was true, what do you have to lose? Everything, it will be too late! I'm praying that you don't wait that long Will.

  3. Marienkaefer: He was expected to come back in the lifetimes of the people in the stories, due to the Roman occupation of Israel. It didn't happen. You can proclaim the promise of pain, retribution, fear, and intolerance all you like. However, like other religious myths, it will not come to pass in any form but a twisted adherent-fulfilled form.
