Giving Her the Ol' Dick Cheney

This morning, I had a fun facebook interaction with one of my in-laws. Ahh, facebook. Without you, how else would I know these people were crazy?

  1. I agree that she is open to express herself, but when, as you said, you speak of branding people, then we have nothing more to talk about. I find it interesting that for 8 years no one was allowed to question the president without having their patriotism impugned. Even under the most criminal acts of the Bush administration, you never had a large group of liberals or progressive threatening to brand all republicans or cut their eyes out or anything. Sure, there were run of the mill nutcases, but that is with any group. The problem is is that the republican party is largely composed of people who want to do nothing more than commit violence against someone they don't agree with. That coupled with the obvious lack of understanding of what a certain piece of legislation does is going to bread nothing but angry, violent, ignorant people who should be kept at a distance.

  2. It may seem harsh to be so blunt about it, but this particular person has pulled this kind of thing numerous times, and she's really delusional. If it had been someone else, I might not have removed them immediately, but that was the last straw. And since that was a particularly heinous comment, I felt compelled to respond, and respond as strongly as the statement deserved.

  3. By the way, she's still emailing me, blasting me for being closed-minded, and lecturing me about using profanity, saying I would never make it in the real world.

  4. This cow obviously doesn't know that you live in the real world. It is amazing that the people that shout about people not living in the real world are usually cloistered from reality.

  5. I know right? I actually get along pretty damn well in the real world, and without manipulating people or asking for special favors.
