Oopsie! Gov. McDonnell Forgets Slavery In 'Confederate History Month' Proclamation

Virginia Governor and noted white man Bob McDonnell (R-as if I needed to tell you) declared April as 'Confederate History Month' in Virginia. How awesome is that? We really should spend an entire month learning about the sacrifices of confederate soldiers during the Civil War. Maybe Mississippi could have a 'Klansman History Month' to recognize the sacrifices of the brave klansmen during the civil rights movement and integration. I could see this spreading to other countries. Germany could have a 'Nazi History Month' to recognize the sacrifices of Nazis during World War II; Uganda could have an 'Idi Amin Month'; Rwanda could have a 'Tutsi-Hutu Massacre Month'; the list goes on and on.

To a larger point, the good governor forgot to mention the institution of slavery during his declaration, you know, because it is easy to forget slavery when we are talking about the Civil War. This guy is such a joke. He came out a few days later and added another statement talking about how slavery was horrible and caused the civil war blah blah blah. If he was concerned about slavery, he would have included it in the first declaration. If he was really fucking concerned about slavery, he wouldn't have had a 'Confederate History Month'.

Just in case you forgot, these guys are pretty happy with the 'Confederate History Month'.

  1. FUCKING ASSHAT!!! What don't these douchebags get? It's like when people say stupid shit like "Why isn't there a white history month?" BECAUSE EVERY MONTH IS WHITE HISTORY MONTH.

I am still trying to convince my little sister that people who fly the rebel flag believe in hatred and slavery, no matter what they say to the contrary. They say that the Civil War was about states' rights, not slavery, but it was about the states' rights to own slaves. I was born and raised in the south, and I have never in my life met one person who was a hardcore states' rights Southern apologist who also wasn't racist, sexist, and usually a lot of other -ists too.
