The pope will be visiting the UK this September to beatify someone for doing something 160 years ago. Glad to see that they are on the ball. Anyway, he should watch out when he climbs off of some young child and out of the plane and steps on British soil, as he may be arrested.
From what can be gleaned from the story, Christopher Hitchins came up with the idea to have the pope arrested for crimes against humanity. Richard Dawkins loved the idea and was fully on board with it. The pope could be charged because the Vatican is not recognized as a sovereign state by the UN.
I don't think anything will come of this. I do love the idea of it. How awesome would it be to see the pope shackled, forced to walk in shame in front of an international court? I can only dream.
